Crews worked quickly through the mist this morning and have nearly half of the roof decking on already! They are anticipating completing the roof decking today. They will be back on Monday to finish up the entrance/lobby steel supports, truss, and decking. Again, great progress!!

They're they go! Roof trusses are flying up today!  The progress report from our General Contractor was very positive with most everything is on schedule or ahead of schedule. The weather is been critical in the progress so far and the forecast is looking good the next couple of days. Crews are hoping to have the roof decking on sometime in the next couple of days and maybe early next week. Interior work in the narthex will begin here over break with new water lines, electrical conduit, and networking conduits run. A temporary wall will be installed in the future school entrance to allow crews to demolish the exterior wall later on and not interfere with school or church functions. Please be aware of that change to the narthex. All in all, we can feel very blessed with the progress that has been made! This kind of progress is a truly wonderful CHRISTmas present! Lookie here...what are those you ask? Those are trusses and roof decking. Crews will be installing trusses on Monday, weather depending. Again...our progress has been blessed!! Keep checking back for more information and spread the word about the blog so that others can keep clued in as well!

Crews finished up more of the exterior wrap and wall structure today. While other crews worked on the bathroom plumbing and central wall. Roof trusses are to be delivered early this next week and the roof is anticipated to be completed by the second week of January!! What a blessing this project has been so far! Thank God for a smooth process so far with no major glitches to set us back. Continue to pray for the safety of the workers, the campaign, and our church and school mission. Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow!

Crews made some more progress today by finishing up some exterior wall boards and putting some of the finishing touches on the block work around the windows and beams. Plumbing in the bathroom was also worked with installation of some supply and waste lines. They continue to have good weather to work in this typical Michigan December!

The concrete floor was finished being poured by 8:30. They were still drying and finishing it late into the evening hours! Crews were cutting seams too! Insulation and exterior wood framing was installed as well.  The 5/6th Graders stole an opportunity to get a quick photograph with the progress too!

Crews were here early this morning, before 5:00 A.M. pouring the concrete floor. It was amazing to see how fast and coordinated this part of the process went. Some of the pictures are fuzzy because it's dark outside, but hopefully you get an idea as to what is going on. At one point in time round 5:30, there were as many as 5 concrete trucks here on site. The floor will be finished this morning and curing for the next couple of days. The weather has been obedient for this work to take place, which shows that God continues to bless this project. Followed the cement trucks this morning at 5:30 A.M. These weren't even the first ones either!

Great news!! Not only have the crews finished all of the exterior walls and are almost complete with the interior block walls, but they have notified us that they will be pouring our concrete floor tomorrow morning! This is a major step in the process which will allow for more work to be done in the coming months and make it easier to complete interior work. They leveled the ground inside and laid down the vapor barrier, hung some lights for working tomorrow morning early in the dark! Crews are anticipated to start working at 5:30 A.M.!! We have been truly blessed throughout this construction process with great weather, expert crews, and fantastic progress! Continue to pray for more positive news to come! Enjoy the photos! Progress continues to go quite well. Crews are almost finished with the block walls because the weather has been quite favorable for working.

Crews finished up the west wall and part of the south wall yesterday. This weather has really made for great progress. Continue to pray for the construction process and for the campaign.

Masonry crews made great progress today with block walls. They anticipate having the walls finished by the end of this week or early next week. The roof decking is anticipated to be delivered mid-December as well. Praise God for great weather and great crews!

The weather has been favorable for this time of year for block laying. The walls continue to rise and we start to get more of a perspective of size and shape of our new school.

The weather has been cooperating allowing for more progress on the walls. Bathroom plumbing is nearing completion, electrical outlets are being installed as well. The center bearing wall is on the rise!

Yes, Mr. Smith, here is your daily update. Those are walls rising! The weather has been great today for some great progress!

With winter setting in here in Northern Michigan, the construction plans were reassessed and work adjusted. The concrete floor will be poured when there are some consecutive days of 40+ weather. In the meantime, we are moving forward with block laying for the walls. Then the roof will be installed so that the structure can be enclosed for the bulk of winter allowing for progress to take place inside. Thankful that these guys don't mind the cold! 

Initial block work almost completed. It is really starting to take shape and is really exciting to watch "rise up" out of the ground. Compacting and pouring of the base floor will commence soon!

The walls are rising! One row down, compaction is next and the base floor is poured. Really exciting to see an actual "outline" of the building start to rise from the foundation.

Look what was delivered today?! PROGRESS!!

Plumbing drainage has been finished and approved! Little green stickers are always a welcome sight on a construction project! A base row of cinder blocks will be laid next and the ever important compacting process follows. Next week, the concrete pad will be poured if all goes as planned. Continue to pray for the process and construction crews!

Bathroom plumbing, roof and ground drain installation began today. Should be done by tomorrow. They have been blessed with great weather for working outside! The State Inspector also showed up today to check on progress. God is good!

More footings were poured today and the front sidewalk was repaired. Everything is moving along as planned. Continue to pray for the workers that are constructing our new school and for the campaign as it continues to progress.

More foundation work and preparing for plumbing and piping...even during the rain!!

Backfilling is almost done. Leveling off the area behind the school is underway for the future playground area. Praise God for the work of this great crew! The precision they have using this equipment is unbelievable!

Footings are in and partial walls are starting to rise!

The footings are complete and partial walls have insulation. Water main work has been completed. Inspections are coming to approve current work before starting the back fill process. Things are looking great!
