Despite the frigid cold, crews were able to finish the roof in the last few days, install the roof drains, and ultimately...the drop in the roof top units today. This progress leads to internal HVAC trunking installation, which also results in the possibility of heating the facility, but we will see if that is the case. Progress is happening. Check out the pictures!

The roofing company was hard at work the other day braving the bitter cold winds and snow on top of the school. They finished half of the north side of the roof. The south side is currently under some snow. Since then, the weather has had it's way with the workers and forced them to pause before coming out to work on top of a building in single digit temperatures with gusty winds! Crews were back on site today trying to finish up a few items.
Meanwhile, unrelated to the building project, the church and school sign got a much needed upgrade today with the installation of the new digital sign. The LWML has graciously helped purchase the sign that will be a great asset to the church and school in the future. When more work progresses on the building, I will post them here, so keep visiting on a regular basis!

With the onslaught of snow lately, I had figured that work would slow down, but I have been pleasantly disappointed! Crews have been working each day on bits and pieces of the project. The roof insulation was delivered on Tuesday. Actually, the driver, who is from the South, drove up early to avoid the nasty weather that was predicted. He spent almost a day and a half in his truck in our parking lot! He said that he was all set with a couple gallons of Kool Aid and had ordered a pizza from Pompei's here in town! Wednesday morning, crews unloaded the foam insulation and the rubber membrane for the roof. Installation began today even in the cold and snow! Meanwhile, committees have been meeting and deciding on color schemes and decor preferences that will eventually grace our walls and floors! Enjoy the updated pictures!

Today's weather was a little more tolerant for crews working outside. They finished up enclosing the school today with particle board on the east side of the entrance/lobby. They were also finishing up the prep work on the roof in anticipation of more intense roof work this next week. Committees are making decisions for details needed in the future including color schemes and floor coverings. We are progressing and are continually blessed with great workers and great weather! Continue to pray for safety, the campaign, as well as the future ministry that this new building will house and the children that will walk its hallways.

Workers were here yesterday working both outside and inside. I felt for the guys working outside in the at times single digit weather! Outside, they are in the process of enclosing the entrance/lobby area to the new school. The roof components should be arriving tomorrow and should be installed by next week. Great news! That way, they will be able to do more inside as the winter season progresses.

Workers were also working inside the narthex too. A false wall is being installed so that they can remove the exterior wall and install the new doors and entrance to the school. This way our functions here at the church and school will not be affected by their work. Once the new entrance is complete, the wall will be removed. Crews also are wrapping up the new electrical panel and conduits that will connect the new school to our existing infrastructure.

After a brief hiatus for CHRISTmas break, I came back to see some more progress on the building. The entry lobby for the school was erected and almost enclosed. Steel beams and roof decking were in place. Interior work was progressing with conduit installed connecting the utility room with the upper level thruways. Keep checking back in for more progress as it moves along!
