The buzz around here has started to get louder and louder the past few days! Crews are working on various aspects of the new building, while the Narthex has been manipulated and prepped for it's own makeover coming here during Spring Break. Electrical work is nearly finished, exterior windows on the new building are installed,  interior block work is nearly finished, drywall has been delivered, bathroom wall tile has been purchased and delivered, the new kitchen appliances are now here, carpeting for the kitchen space has been removed, kitchen shelving and cupboards have been prepped for removal, and color schemes have been finalized. Wheww...that was a lot!
Crews will be in the Narthex tomorrow around noon to begin demolition of the kitchen right away too and will be here Friday and throughout next week. So if you are here at the church and school over Spring Break, please understand that it will be very messy and very busy. Please respect the space that the workers will need to complete their tasks as quickly as possible. Pray for safety while the crews work and that all construction progresses as planned. Enjoy the pictures of the updated progress below!

There aren't any new pictures to post today, but we are excited that the new building now has HEAT! Electrical crews were working this week on powering up parts of the new building, particularly the heating units. This leads to the building drying out over the next week or two allowing the drywall crews the opportunity to get in over Spring Break. EXCITING!!

Kitchen preparations have started with the removal of the carpeting in the narthex area. Crews are anticipated to start next Monday with major interior demolition and construction of the kitchen and school entrance.

Workers installed the door frames recently, wall blocking to mount whiteboards was installed and the gas line supplying the roof top units is almost finished. Inside, carpeting has been removed in the narthex to prepare for kitchen renovations that will take place over Spring Break. Those pictures will come soon.

The two week lull has gradually come to an end with a few items being worked on here at the new school. The major work happening was the installation of the 4" gas supply line running to the new school. Outside our window, the process seemed precarious! Lifting a 15-20' piece of pipe that is strapped to a lift seems risky to me, but the crews did a great job and got it installed without any glitches. They are now working on the gas line on the roof today.

It was a little quieter in the new building yesterday. I contemplated what it was and then I realized it...there are windows installed!! There used to be loud whistling when the boards were up, but now there isn't.  The north wall windows have been installed and don't know a timeframe on the south wall. Those 6 windows do give the space a different feel, though. More and more you get a better perspective of size and depth! Check out the pictures.
