Well, the school year is finally completed! YAY!! Let the chaos begin! Wait...chaos? I thought that school is done for the summer? This chaos doesn't involve children, it involves drywall dust, paint, hammering, sawing, and a flurry of workers. Yes, crews will be starting Tuesday on the inside of the narthex, office space, new windows, and entrance to the school. To say the least, there will be a cloud in the building with the amount of work taking place. Please be mindful of the workers if visiting the school/church this next couple of weeks. Also, be aware that we are doing our best to keep everything clean and secure during this last portion of the process.
In the new wing, the lockers are installed and number labels almost completed. Painting is almost completed in the multipurpose room. Toilets and sinks will be installed beginning Tuesday along with partitions in the bathrooms as well. Whiteboards and bulletin boards were delivered on Thursday and will be installed on Tuesday too. All of the classroom cabinetry has been installed and the glue from the countertops is curing. Mr. Jacobson lucked out and has extra cabinets in the Kindergarten room! Every teacher's dream! Window sills were also cut, glued, and caulked. Everything is looking sharp! Projectors have been ordered and the wireless access points are in the works as well.
Exterior grading and excavation are completed and the playground location is now visible. Final landscaping and seeding are in the near future. The Playground Committee is deciding on final dimensions and the position and will be ordering playground components soon. Look at the school's Facebook page in the coming week or so for a GoFundMe link to the Playground Fundraiser. Share that link with as many "friends" as you can to get the word out so that we can complete the playground in its entirety before the school year begins.
As always, continue to pray for the process as we are in the homestretch. It has been a whirlwind of activity and work, but God's hand has been with us and the workers the entire time. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
